IPES advanced detection technology ensures virtually instantaneous flame recognition and alarm. On detection, it transfers alarm signals to receiving control devices in control and operations rooms and on fire alarms and burglar/fire alarm systems.
The IPES-IR selectively identifies flame emissions in narrow regions in the infrared spectrum via optical IR filters designed for peak sensitivity at 4.2 and 4.6 micron wavelengths. This configuration allows optimal sensitivity to hydrocarbon fires while rejecting false signals from incandescent lamps, sunlight and hot objects.
The IPES-IR outperforms fire detectors based on the presence of smoke, heat, or fire-generated gases, which have slower inherent response time and are further delayed by environmental conditions such as wind, and diffusion. Moreover, the IPES-IR offers stronger immunity to false signals than fire detectors using carbon dioxide sensors.
